Ontario Finance Minister demands talks with Ottawa on transit funding

Obvious question is this: why didn't Metrolinx have any discussions with Ottawa before recommending 1% hike in HST in the Investment Strategy?  They had five years to meet work out details.  The silver lining:  If Feds can actually block this $1.3 billion revenue tool, Metrolinx and province will have to consider road pricing since it generates a comparable amount of revenue each year -- and has the added benefits of reducing congestion, shifting demand, creating reliable trips and decreasing emissions.
